The International Miners Mission is a long-established Christian ministry with a unique calling to reach out to mining communities around the world with the Good News of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Most miners live very tough lives in harsh, remote and often dangerous conditions. The risk of accident, disease and even death is ever present. More people are killed or injured in the mining industry than in any other industry. More than 15,000 miners are killed every year - and this is just the official number of deaths.
Our mission is to encourage and sponsor local indigenous churches and evangelists to get alongside miners where they live and work. Often exploited and overlooked, miners and their families need help to see their communities transformed through faith in Jesus Christ.
IMM is made up of five Committees: UK (1906); Switzerland (1950); USA (1992) Australia (2002); South Africa (2006). Each has its own board and area of responsibility.
