The founder of Rhoda Ministries reveals the heart behind her work. She says...
”Like Rhoda in Acts 12, I want to be a servant who answers the call, who responds with joy, whom God uses to encourage believers and who brings the Good News of Christ’s liberating power to the persecuted and marginalized.
My ministry seeks to help the extremely vulnerable, be they refugees, persecuted Christians, orphans, widows, the handicapped, the elderly, any marginalized people wherever they may be. Drawing from my experiences and acquired skills of working in the humanitarian field for over 25 years, I will help those in desperate need, while simultaneously offering them the hope of Christ. My desire is also to restore dignity to those marginalized by listening to their needs, working with them to create programs that meet those needs, and building a network of people to support them. Through education, material distributions, job creation, networking, advocacy and by God’s grace I will work to see restoration and wholeness in Christ for those God allows me to serve.
Currently, I partner with different professionals and organizations as a consultant. As part of those relationships we will soon hold two “Orality Bible Storying” (train the trainer) classes for refugees and the marginalized, and other persecuted individuals in Africa. This gives those who had previously been voiceless an ownership in Gospel presentation and empowers them while spreading the Good News. Along with this Bible training, we will be doing trauma care and trauma education. And finally we will address concerns that affect young girls and women explicitly, giving them the resources to stay in school and create jobs.
I also currently work with a leper community, supporting them with monthly food distributions. My heart is to expand the program and offer education for children on how to care for aging relatives suffering from the complications of leprosy. Along with education, I want to add a fruit tree distribution for every plot in the village which will offer supplemental nutritional value to the local diet and help in job creation.
A few other projects that I support, that I am deeply passionate about, and am currently involved in, are Trauma care, Staff care for long term field workers and missionaries, Psychosocial awareness, and food/non-food item distributions in the Middle East region. My prayer is to stay available and obedient to the people and opportunities God places before me, whatever they may be, and no matter how much I am stretched beyond my own capacity. God is faithful!
Thank you for your support. “

Above is the Bible Story board that we use to tell the stories of the Bible and explain God’s plan of salvation.
Working together is a key aspect of bringing comfort, help and healing to traumatized people and their community.
The Gospel of Christ brings hope and healing in all cultures. This is central to bringing restoration and new life wherever we work.
